I’m a former alternative weekly editor, magazine veteran, and writer based in Scottsville, Virginia. I grew up in Yakima, Washington, before moving to the South. I spent a year as a Rotary Exchange Student in Finland, attended the College of Charleston, and made a two-year foray to Vermont while my husband was in grad school. Needless to say, my interests are as varied as my past addresses. Whether it's a deep dive into how Highland cows are restoring Culloden’s Battlefield or writing sponsored content on some of the best travel destinations in the world, if you agree with Ernest Hemingway that “there is nothing to writing. When I'm not reporting and editing, you can find me traveling and visiting historic sites with my history teacher husband and nine-year-old son.
